  • With the eCoach simulator, any phase of flight can be the focus of a training scenario. Simulations can concentrate exclusively on surveillance-based operations for approach, departure, or area control (ACC), or combine multiple ACC sectors with tower and ground operations in a single integrated exercise. The platform’s flexibility allows training environments to be configured precisely to operational needs — from highly focused sector training to full gate-to-gate traffic flows.

 

  • eCoach APPROACH includes approach specific functionalities like AMAN, realistic weather presentations, etc.

 

  • The eCoach system also supports key industry-standard ATM functions and interfaces, including OLDI, CTOT, AFTN messaging, and ICAO procedures. Surveillance data can be simulated using established ASTERIX protocols, covering radar, ADS-B, WAM, and other surveillance sources. This ensures realistic system behavior and seamless alignment with modern operational environments.

eCoach DIGITAL TOWER

Future-Ready Tower Operations — Trained Today.
 

  • A Digital Tower environment replaces the traditional physical control tower with advanced cameras and sensors that transmit real-time visual and operational data to a digital control center. Controllers maintain full situational awareness through a high-fidelity digital out-the-window view, enhanced with intelligent overlays and sensor inputs.

 

  • Within the eCoach platform, the remote tower view can include additional operational information layered directly onto the visual scene, such as compass orientation, weather data, aircraft labels, and other contextual cues. Advanced camera functions are supported, including zoom capabilities and dedicated views for runway inspections and surface monitoring.

 

  • eCoach also enables multi-airport digital operations, allowing several airports to be presented simultaneously at a single controller working position through a flexible multi-mode setup. This supports modern remote tower concepts where one controller may manage more than one aerodrome.

 

  • To further support realistic training and concept validation, eCoach includes dedicated Digital Tower project tools, such as camera position selection and configuration features, enabling tailored setups aligned with specific airport layouts and operational concepts.

Collaboration and Coordination Training across ACC/APP/TWR
 

  • The eCoach ATC simulator provides comprehensive gate-to-gate simulation, with all flights modeled from departure gate to arrival gate using full 4D trajectory calculations and detailed performance profiles.

 

  • One eCoach system can be configured with Tower (TWR), Approach (APP), and Area Control (ACC) working positions. During a simulation, any combination of these positions can be assigned to the exercise, and multiple tower cabins representing different airports can operate simultaneously within the same scenario. This architecture enables fully integrated gate-to-gate exercises involving coordinated operations across TWR, APP, and ACC environments.

 

  • This capability supports collaborative training between ATC units and facilities, enabling realistic cross-unit coordination and operational flow management. In addition, the eCoach platform can be used as a powerful tool for prototyping, exploring, and validating airspace designs before initiating large-scale airspace implementation projects.
